Chris Brandley’s First Snow

A former GCISD art teacher, and fellow member of the Grapevine Art Project Chris Brandley has something a little special to celebrate this holiday season. One of her oil paintings was licensed for use on Christmas snack tins. The tins have some mass distribution as they’re for sale at Big Lots stores around the country! I’ve nabbed some images from the artist’s website so you can see for yourself.

You can read the adventure of not only how the painting came to be, but how her art ended up on these tins by clicking here to visit her blog entry on the subject. So if you go into a Big Lots store and find the tins, I encourage you to send her a selfie with the post to her Facebook page, it’ll make her smile! Of course you can not only take a tin home from a Big Lots, but she has prints for sale of her artwork too.

cab_snacks

There will be a reception on Saturday, October 7th from 7-11pm for the latest themed show–Cakeballs, Popcorn, Donuts and Beer–at the Central Arts of Bedford located at 2816 Central Drive in Bedford. Not only will I have work exhibiting at the show (a shot from the Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen, Denmark), but many of my prints (featuring a wide variety of subject matter) are also returning to the gallery.

Admission is free, so please come on by to support your local artists. I’m pretty sure it’s a safe bet that there’s going to be some free samples from some of the food businesses in the Meadows Shopping Center.

New Greeting Cards

Here’s a teaser image of my new blank greeting card stock.

These are 5×7″ cards on 14 pt cardstock, with High Gloss UV Coating on the outside, the inside is uncoated to make it easier to write on.

They’ll be debuting at my booth inside the Foust Event Center at this year’s Grapefest, held September 14th-17th in Grapevine, Texas.
